Hackathons – which originate from the software development community and are mainly used to find technological solutions – can successfully help solve social issues as a participatory innovation method. Hackathons effectively introduce innovations in social areas, such as the aging population and related needs. This article presents a case study of a hackathon held in Krakow in 2023, the aim of which was for intergenerational teams to develop solutions to meet the needs of older people.
