Abstract

This article analyses contemporary demographic trends and transformations taking place in the structure of Polish society. Multigenerational, more extended, and longer lifespan with decreased retirement age and the family model change have been recognized as the basis of contemporary social policy challenges. It was stressed that social solidarity in the current dimension in further aging would be insufficient. It can be replaced by a conflict of generations, the instruments aimed at stabilizing the relations between the generations, shaping social relationships, and guaranteeing social security. An opportunity is to develop the service sector, professional activation 50-60+, environmental integration, and strengthening of intergenerational dialogue.
