Some remarks concerning the issues of residential environment in the context of needs of elderly people regarding this sphere

Abstract
The article aims to show older people's needs concerning the residential environment and deprivations in that sphere. The deprivations will be presented in light of environmental stress regarding architectural barriers, lack of infrastructure, and senior citizens' social support. In turn, the seniors' needs regarding the residential environment will be illustrated by the typology of causes of staying in the present place of residence till the end of their lives. The needs that senior citizens want to satisfy in their habitat and experienced barriers, discomforts, and stresses will be pictured by quotes of elderly inhabitants of housing estates in Upper Silesia, interviewed by the author.
