Abstract

The article aims to highlight the role of seniors in supporting their adult children in the process of self-creation towards parenthood of a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The text has a theoretical character, addressing issues from the perspective of the boundary situation associated with experiencing autism in the family and with practical support for the child's development, which involves the active inclusion of parents and grandparents as supportive factors in self-creation. It also discusses emotional and respite care topics, focusing on biographical learning, a significant element of self-creation processes.
