USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN CIVILIAN PROTECTION
Abstract
In recent years, the number of threats in our environment has been steadily increasing.
Observable climate change, increasingly frequent natural disasters, technical
failures, and armed conflicts pose new challenges for humanity. a response to these
challenges lies in the use of modern technologies that enable effective civilian protection.
One of the key solutions is the growing application of artificial intelligence
as a tool supporting threat forecasting and aiding decision-making processes in crisis
situations. Artificial intelligence is an important component of contemporary
video surveillance systems, drones, and other devices, enhancing their operational
efficiency and enabling autonomous functioning. On the one hand, it offers opportunities
for effective threat prevention and mitigation; on the other, it raises concerns
related to legal frameworks and ethical standards.
