DEFENSE AND PROTECTION OF THE BORDER IN RELATION TO STATE SYSTEMS IN TIMES OF WAR AND PEACE
Abstrakt
The authors aim to characterise the challenges related to securing the state border
during both peace and war times. First, they concentrate on the individual formations
of uniformed services at work. These formations are responsible for defending
the civilian population and the state institutions in the area of Poland’s eastern border.
The authors outline the legal framework that defines and constrains the functioning
of entities responsible for border protection and defence in both countries.
The cooperation between various uniformed formations in response to the challenges
on Poland’s eastern border is described and analysed. Additionally, through an
examination of the current legal status and the practical responses to these challenges,
they suggest solutions for enhancing the protection and defence of Poland in
peace and war.
