Volunteering – as an example of being and becoming in late adulthood

Abstract

This study addresses the issue of volunteering as a phenomenon that remains significantly present in public and individual space. The issues addressed were carried out in reference to the general concept of volunteering, paying attention to its values for the institution, the community, and the entity providing voluntary, selfless help. The topic of volunteering has been elaborated on the dimension of positive consequences stemming from volunteering activities for the elderly. Referring to the theoretical and research premises, the benefits of seniors’ volunteers are presented. Attention was also paid to the aspect of promotion and dissemination of the idea of volunteering among older people.
