Abstract

The article deals with the attitudes of centenarians and supercentenarians toward the aging process in the context of education for old age. In rapidly aging societies, preparing for old age has become one of the key educational challenges. The article presents the results of qualitative studies among people aged 100 years or older. The researchers were interested in the perception of the aging process in the context of individual life stories, with particular attention paid to the message for younger generations. The research employed a collective case study including 12 cases of people living in families and social support homes in Cracow and the surrounding area. The materials gathered during interviews may be valuable in preparing for old age.
