Abstract

The aging of the human population and the falling fertility rate and birth rate create the challenge of providing care and support to the growing number of elderly subpopulations by fewer and fewer generations of the youngest. The number of younger and closest family members, the primary care facilities for the oldest, is shrinking. The Long Term Care services sector is entering a crisis. An ad hoc solution is the employment of immigrants. In the long run, it will become uncertain and insufficient. Recently, robotic technologies have been developing dynamically, including to the extent corresponding to the needs of the LTC sector. Potential end users respond surprisingly positively to the tested devices. Their dissemination in the LTC sector can be considered a manifestation of posthumanism, which can be interpreted as a development and enrichment of humanism, not its denial.
