1st Congress of Social Gerontologists report
Abstract
The text is a report from the 1st Congress of Social Gerontologists held under the theme “50th Anniversary of Third Age Universities: Experiences – Reflections – Visions”. The event took place on May 18–19, 2023, in Ustroń. It allowed academic researchers to meet with practitioners working with older people. During the congress, presentations were given in the following thematic sections: The learning potential of older adults, Third Age University today – practitioners' perspective, Determinants of older people's activity – researchers’ perspective, The social dimension of aging, Seniors in the world of technology and innovation, Good practices in Third Age Universities, Online session, Crises and challenges of aging, Manifestations of older adults’ activity. The program included time for discussion and exchange of reflections. The congress was conducted in an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual respect, and participants expressed hopes for future meetings and discussions.
